What is the difference between custom, semi-custom, and stock cabinets?
Stock cabinets come in fixed sizes in 3 inch increments, off the shelf, in a limited set of finishes. Semi-custom starts from standard cabinet boxes but lets you modify depths, widths, and finishes, which covers most kitchens well. Full custom is built to order for your exact walls, in any configuration, wood species, and finish. Price follows the same ladder. Which cabinet woods hold up best in Wisconsin?
Oak, maple, and hickory are the workhorses in this climate, and all three are grown in Wisconsin forests.
